Aston Villa is considering acquiring Iheanacho, a homegrown player, as a possible replacement for

Aston Villa is allegedly keeping an eye on Kelechi Iheanacho, the striker for the Super Eagles.

The Manchester City academy product’s contract with Leicester City is about to expire in less than two weeks, and on July 1, 2024, he will be free to sign with another team.

Iheanacho declined several chances to stay longer at the King Power Stadium, and he has now made the decision to leave his seven-year relationship with Leicester City.

Football Insider reports that Chelsea is in advanced talks to sign 20-year-old Jhon Duran this summer, while Aston Villa is looking to replace him.

Iheanacho is being watched by the Lions in anticipation of a possible summer transfer window acquisition.

If the transaction goes through, the Nigerian national team member, who spent his formative years with Manchester City before turning 21, will play in the Premier League for Aston Villa as a homegrown player in the 2024–2025 season.

Iheanacho is four games away from surpassing the 200-game mark in the English top division, making him a seasoned Premier League player.

His Premier League stats are not great, with 67 goal involvements (42 goals, 25 assists).

After taking home the Golden Ball at the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, Iheanacho was predicted to do well.
