Manchester United Submit Offer For This Everton Defender: What Will He Bring?

Jarrad Branthwaite, a defender for Everton, is being pursued by Manchester United.

Manchester United has reportedly made an initial offer of about £35 million for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, according to an Athletic report. They intend to turn down the offer, though, since they are looking for a higher price.

Jarrad Branthwaite’s prominent rise

In the winter of 2020, Jarrad Branthwaite moved to Everton after honing his early game at Carlisle United. He didn’t, however, receive enough chances, and in 2022 he was even loaned to PSV, an Eredivisie team. However, this season was different for him.
Branthwaite cemented his position as Everton’s starting defense. He scored three goals in 41 appearances. According to whoscored’s statistics, he averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.4 interceptions, and 4.3 clearances per game.

The English centre-back is physically strong and a tall defender with excellent aerial presence. He is comfortable with both feet on the ball. He has an aggressive nature and reads the game well. Overall, the player possesses all the traits to succeed at the highest level.

A good addition for Manchester United

During the 2023–24 season, Manchester United’s defensive line sustained numerous injuries. Because of Raphael Varane’s departure, fortifying that area has become even more important. For this reason, the team is eager to sign Jarrad Branthwaite.
Branthwaite is a prime target because of his good character and previous Premier League experience. He can form a strong defensive partnership with Lisandro Martinez. For the Red Devils, his aggressiveness and height will be essential.
The young player has interest from several European teams, but Everton would not take a low-ball offer, so United will need to shell out a substantial sum of money to get him. At just 21, he is still developing and may be a long-term investment.

From the player’s perspective, moving to Old Trafford could help him advance in his career. He has the ability to leave his own legacy while leading the team to greater success than in prior years.
