Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest set to make shock Saudi move as Crystal Palace eye Arsenal star

The latest transfer talk from around the Premier League.

Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are apparently preparing to make a move that many observers believed Newcastle United would make during the summer transfer window.

TEAMtalk that the Premier League rivals are both interested in signing Saudi Arabia international Saud Abdulhamid, who had a strong season with Pro League team Al-Hilal. After playing alongside former Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves and ex-Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, the talented full-back is thought to be looking for a move to Europe and has plenty of suitors once the summer transfer window opens.

Toulouse, a French team, has already made a move for Abdulhamid and is reportedly in talks with the defender and his club. However, Marseille, Villa, and Forest are also claimed to have made ‘concrete movements’ with the 24-year-old’s agency, as well as communication with Al-Hilal, in order to reach a deal for a player who will enter the final year of his present contract this summer.

Villa are reportedly looking to enhance their full-back options after Poland international Matty Cash was linked with a move away from Villa Park. Emery is also thought to be a big fan of Sunderland star Trai Hume, who has previously been linked with Bournemouth and Premier League newcomers Leicester City.

Palace eye Gunners winger as replacement for Newcastle-linked star

Reiss Nelson has triggered a scramble for his services after apparently indicating his desire to leave Arsenal during the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old made 24 appearances in all competitions last season, but only five were as part of Mikel Arteta’s starting eleven, prompting the former Feyenoord loan star to contemplate his future at the Emirates Stadium. According to TEAMtalk, Crystal Palace could offer Nelson a way out of Arsenal, as the club looks increasingly likely to lose in-demand winger Michael Olise this summer.

The former QPR midfielder has been linked with moves to Newcastle, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich in recent days, and Nelson is thought to be on the Eagles’ radar as they seek to replace a player who has piqued the interest of multiple teams with his spectacular performances at Selhurst Park.
