With great pleasure, AFC Bournemouth announces two preseason friendlies scheduled for August at Vitality Stadium.
In the last weekends before the Premier League season begins, the Cherries will host Girona and Rayo Vallecano.
On August 4, Rayo will make his way back to Vitality Stadium for a 3 p.m. kickoff, marking Andoni Iraola’s reunion with his previous team.
Over his three seasons in charge of the Madrid-based team, the head coach of Cherries led them to promotion in his debut season and consecutive mid-table finishes in La Liga the next two years.
Taking over as manager in February 2024, Vallecano finished the 2023–2024 season in 17th position under Inigo Perez’s direction.
Then, on Saturday, August 10, at 7 p.m., Girona will play the Cherries in Dorset, six days later.
The other La Liga team enjoyed a fantastic 2023–24 season, finishing third in the standings behind only Real Madrid and Barcelona.
They will play in the UEFA Champions League for the first time ever in the next season as they attempt to leave their mark on the league.

If fans would like to spice up their matchday, they may upgrade to an experience in our Top Floor Restaurant for £150, which includes a three-course meal, a welcome drink, and a reserved seat in the Executive Block. In addition, during halftime, guests will get tea, coffee, and tiny cakes; at full time, they will get cheese and biscuits.
