Aston Villa inks Worcester wonderkid to a contract

Aston Villa has signed a promising young football player from Worcester.

Mika Alexandru, a third-year student at Oasis Academy Warndon, will be among the new players in the Villains’ under-9 team.

On Monday, May 20, he inked a contract with the Premier League squad, beginning an exciting new phase in his rapidly developing career.

During a tournament, Mika was first noticed while competing for the Oldbury Park Tigers.

He showed promise, but his initial training was cut short when he sustained elbow problems.

However, Mika’s passion for the game persisted, and as a result, scouts from Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion, Leicester City, and Coventry City were interested in him.

Playing on Saturdays for Solihull Academy and Sundays for Solihull Moors helped him develop his skills.

Mika was reintroduced into the scouting spotlight after Villa scouts Jon Sarriegui and Dave Crowe saw his potential.

“We are so proud of Mika,” expressed Gheorge Madalin Alexandru, Mika’s father.

“At such a young age, he has immense ambition and exercises quite hard.

“We also want to express our gratitude to Oasis Academy Warndon, Mika’s school, for their understanding and support about his training obligations.

Mika wouldn’t have been able to do this without the support of his school.

“Mika’s dedication to football and her enthusiasm for it are incredibly motivating,” said school principal Suzanne Owen.

“We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and the entire academy community will continue to support him.”
