Messi states that Inter Miami is the last team.

Lionel Messi, the star of Argentina, stated that Inter Miami will be his “last club” and that “there’s not a lot of time left” in his remarkable career.

Messi, who played for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain for 20 years in Europe, ended his career when he joined Inter Miami last summer at the age of 36.

Messi spoke with ESPN about his goals and football career in an interview that will appear on Wednesday. With 14 goals in all competitions and an Eastern Conference championship, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner is under contract with Inter Miami through the end of 2025. He has already had a big influence.

Messi’s relocation to Miami brought him back together with Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suárez, his old Barcelona colleagues.

In the interview, he said, “Yes, as of today, I think it’s going to be my last club,” to convey his feelings. “I’m not ready to leave football either,” he added, though.

On June 24, Messi will turn 37. He has had an incredible career. He won ten La Liga titles and four Champions League titles with Barcelona. In addition, he guided Argentina to triumph in the 2022 World Cup and the 2021 Copa America. He will play in this month’s Copa America in the US.

Messi noted, “It was a difficult step to leave Europe to come here,” in reflection on his move from Europe to the Major League Soccer (MLS). Being a world champion also made a big difference in how I saw things.

Since his arrival, MLS has seen a major increase in popularity; his shirt has become the most sought-after piece of MLS memorabilia, and his matches have sold out anywhere he plays.

With the USA, Mexico, and Canada serving as co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup, Messi is considering playing in the competition. As his career was coming to an end, he expressed his thoughts by saying, “My whole life, I did this.” I adore using a ball for play. Every day of the matches, I look forward to the daily workout. I have a slight fear that everything will come to an end.

With 672 goals to his credit, Messi leads all scorers at Barcelona. In just two seasons, he scored 32 goals and contributed 35 assists while playing for PSG. His 40 club and national championship trophies culminated in the 2022 World Cup victory for Argentina, which was the apex of his career.
