Man Utd snub officially confirmed as winger signs four-year deal after Newcastle United & Sunderland talks

Omari Forson left Manchester United after his contract expired, and Serie A team Monza has announced his free move.

The 19-year-old made seven appearances across all competitions in 2023–24, his debut season in the Man United first squad. The winger rejected a new contract offer from the Red Devils in lieu of a four-year agreement with Italian team Monza.

This follows reports that the young player and Newcastle United had discussions on a possible free move. Championship teams Sunderland and Middlesbrough were reportedly rumoured to be interested in signing the adolescent. In a formal statement released on Wednesday, Monza called Forson “one of the most promising prospects in Europe.””Omari Nathan Forson is officially an AC Monza player,” the announcement said. The Biancorossi and the English winger have an agreement that runs through June 30, 2028.

“Born in London on July 20, 2004, he relocated to Manchester United at the age of 14, where he established himself in the youth sector.

He got his first professional contract with the English team in January 2021. Due to his outstanding development trajectory, he was called up to the First Team in the summer of 2023. On January 8, 2024, he made his official FA Cup debut against Wigan.

From the Under 15 to the Under 20, Forson has played for England’s youth national teams in 14 games.

“Forson, the first signing of Monza for the 2024–2025 season, is one of the most promising prospects in Europe.”

In addition to finishing 12th in Serie A the previous year, Monza has been linked to a move for Loris Karius since it was confirmed that the custodian had been released by Newcastle.
