Lloyd Kelly signed with Newcastle, where his pay has increased.

Significant signing on fee rumored as information about a £100k-per-week Newcastle deal surface

The 25-year-old defender Lloyd Kelly’s signing with Newcastle United was confirmed on Thursday morning.

With his contract expiring, the former Bournemouth player has joined Newcastle in an effort to reunite with Eddie Howe.

Following reports that Kelly was on Tyneside for his medical yesterday, Fabrizio Romano stated on social media this morning that the deal was 100% finalized.

Although the club has not yet confirmed the news, Kelly’s contract with Bournemouth expires at the end of this month, so we won’t anticipate any major announcements untilKelly has reportedly signed a £100,000-per-week contract, which is three times his salary from Bournemouth, according to Football Insider.

A ‘large’ signing-on fee is also mentioned, which is common when free transfers are involved, although no specific sum is given.

Following Lewis Hall’s season-long loan being converted into a permanent agreement, Kelly becomes Newcastle’s first summer acquisition who wasn’t pre-arranged.
