Ex-England player will undoubtedly run for Sunderland manager following Liam Rosenior’s injury.

Sunderland have recently suffered another blow in their ongoing search for a new manager.

Liam Rosenior withdrew from consideration to be the next Sunderland manager, hence he is no longer in the running.

Rosenior declined the chance to re-interview with the Sunderland representatives in charge of selecting the team’s next manager.

After the Clarets were relegated from the Premier League, it is believed that the former Hull City manager would prefer to take over as manager of Burnley.

The announcement regarding Rosenior follows the report that Will Still, the long-term goal to manage Sunderland, decided to join RC Lens instead of accepting the position.
Kristjaan Speakman and owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus are currently facing harsh criticism because the Black Cats haven’t had a manager since February.

Some anonymous applicants are rumored to be in the running and in talks with Sunderland.

It’s unclear who goes by these names. However, as the team’s shortlist gets smaller and smaller, there may be ties to a manager who is unemployed and who appears to be itching to get back in the dugout.
