Celtic submit a special Glasgow City Council application ahead of Rangers’ visits.

Celtic Football Club has applied to Glasgow City Council to put temporary netting in the away area of Celtic Park for the Glasgow Derby games next season.

This move comes after it was announced that approximately 2.5k away fans would be allowed to attend games beginning next season.

In recent years, the number of away fans for the Derby has decreased dramatically.

Due to the Ibrox board’s obstinacy, what was once a thriving rivalry of 7,000 supporters has been reduced to just 800 visiting fans, and more recently, none at all.

The shutout was primarily motivated by Celtic and serious safety issues, particularly injuries caused by missiles hurled from the top deck at Ibrox.

Celtic refused to allow their fans to be targeted in the stadium’s corner, resulting in injuries to attendance.
