WWE Pull Controversial Glasgow Merchandise After Alienating Celtic Fans

A shirt that looked like a Glasgow Rangers top appears to have been removed from the WWE retail inventory ahead of their eagerly awaited show in Glasgow, according to a recent update.

When the jersey was first released as part of the event merchandising for WWE’s upcoming PPV in Glasgow, “Clash at the Castle,” some fans were taken aback by how much it resembled the Glasgow Rangers uniform. Glasgow’s football scene is characterised by intense and turbulent rivalries. The main problem was that, when both sets of fans gather, WWE only catered to one fandom in Glasgow.

The jersey cost ninety dollars and was available for purchase on the WWE website in the United States. Now, clicking on the item’s link brings you to the homepage.

WWE officials are probably unaware of what they were putting out because they are so far removed from Glasgow’s fishbowl. One person we spoke with inside the organisation said WWE just thought it was a Scottish shirt and symbol. It’s obvious that when the concept was presented to them, they took it immediately.

Drew McIntyre, a professional wrestler from Ayr, is a fan of the Rangers and may have wished to serve his own club. Even though there isn’t much risk, it seems absurd to risk upsetting half of your audience who spend a lot of money to attend live events. We still believe that charging $90 for an item that appears to be from the Barras constitutes the true crime!

With the jersey being pulled, WWE’s Glasgow event is expected to go forward without a hitch, with the main goal being to provide every guest an amazing and unforgettable evening.

They did choose a really bad time to visit Scotland because Smackdown was filmed at the Hydro on the evening of Scotland vs Germany. The following evening, the PPV is held at the same location.
