Defender may leave Tottenham for Ipswich this summer in light of current events, according to a report

Just one week after being released by the North London club, Japhet Tanganga, a graduate of the Tottenham Hotspur academy, is reportedly being eyed by Ipswich Town (page 70).

Tottenham released Japhet Tanganga earlier this month.

In order to be ready for what should be an interesting season, the Tractor Boys are building their roster for the 2024–2025 Premier League season.

Prior to July 1, when Japhet Tanganga will formally become a free agent, there isn’t expected to be any activity regarding a move to Ipswich or any other English team.

Nevertheless, the Mirror reports that Ipswich Town is closely monitoring the former Tottenham defender this summer after he made an impression for Millwall in the Championship the previous campaign.

Ipswich Town are looking at Tanganga after Spurs exit

The report claims that Ipswich are not alone in their admiration of Tanganga, however, they do have an advantage over some of the other clubs in the race to sign him.

Millwall are said to be interested in making Tanganga’s six-month loan a permanent transfer once the window opens, following his impressive spell there. Luton Town are also keeping an eye on the former Spurs defender.

However, Ipswich Town have something the other two cannot offer – Premier League football.

Finding a team where he can be counted on to start every week should be Tanganga’s main goal this summer. To stay in shape, he requires that degree of consistency.

Though I may be a little prejudiced, I would rather see him sign with Ipswich in order to watch him finally put his ability to the test in the Premier League.
