Gold confirms Tottenham’s interest in two defenders but reveals Ange’s primary focus

Spurs are prioritizing strengthening their midfield and attack in the upcoming transfer window before focusing on adding defensive reinforcements.

As previously mentioned, the Spurs have been keeping an eye on Hiroki Ito of Stuttgart and Murillo of Nottingham Forest as possible center backs.

The team plans to address the defensive need later in the summer, despite the continued attention.

It has been emphasized by manager Ange Postecoglou that the team’s defensive lineup needs to be strengthened by adding a new center defender.

Tottenham is still looking to sign a center-back, even after signing Radu Dragusin from Genoa in January. This is because primary defenders Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero were both troubled by injuries and bans the previous season.

With the loss of Eric Dier in January, the recent release of Japhet Tanganga, and the likely departure of Joe Rodon, the team’s defensive depth suffered.

Ito and Murillo are at the top of the team’s wish list, and Postecoglou is intent on signing another defender.

Hiroki Ito, a 25-year-old defender with versatility who can play left or center back, might be a great addition as he could offer Destiny Udogie dependable protection.

Murillo, a 21-year-old Brazilian who signed for Nottingham Forest last summer, is another promising young player.

But according to Gold, Tottenham’s top objective right now is to bolster their attack and midfield. Upon filling these key positions, the club will not rule out chasing Ito or Murillo.

Spurs’ approach to assembling a strong team is all-encompassing, guaranteeing that they have the depth and caliber of players in every position on the field to challenge for the Premier League championship the next.
