When the PSR update is released, Aston Villa will accept the “ridiculous” offer for Ollie Watkins.

Bryan King thinks Ollie Watkins would only be considered for a “ridiculous” deal from Aston Villa.

According to the former Villa scout, the team has no intention of offloading any of its big-name players this summer.

It comes after a report in Birmingham Live (8 June) suggested that the club are at risk of a PSR breach.

But King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – thinks Watkins is still unlikely to be sacrificed.

“I don’t think they will sell their best players,” King said.

“But there are players in the squad who would be available, and Villa need to sell before they can buy.

“I don’t think Watkins will leave unless it is ridiculous money. It would be the wrong time to sell him.

Some players might be able to raise a respectable amount of money, but how much money will they need to raise?

Unai Emery and Aston Villa will be fighting for Ollie Watkins.

In preparation for playing in the UEFA Champions League the next season, Villa should consider bolstering rather than undermining Unai Emery’s team.

There is no avoiding the fact that sales must be made, though.

With the current profit and sustainability regulations in place in the Premier League, a club is allowed to lose up to £105 million in three years.

Villa’s fiscal year is scheduled to conclude on June 30. They are now living perilously close to that line.

This implies that sales will probably have to be made prior to that.

But a lot of players will undoubtedly go on before Watkins’ name is taken into account.

Supporters may reasonably assume that the striker won’t be leaving this summer as long as he is still a Villa player come July.

In other Aston Villa news, a behind-the-scenes drama is causing the club to strike a compromise with one big-name player.
