Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign La Liga striker; could offer Spaniard in exchange

Youssef En-Nesyri, who now plays for Sevilla, is considering joining Tottenham this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur is interested in signing Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri this summer, as reported by Radio Sevilla (h/t Vamos di Sevilla).

Youssef En-Nesyri, 27, has been one of La Liga’s most consistent strikers throughout the years. After starting with CD Leganes, the Moroccan international has excelled with Sevilla, scoring 73 goals in 196 appearances.

In Sevilla’s disastrous 2023/24 season, the 27-year-old stood out with 20 goals and three assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. However, it appears like Youssef En-Nesyri may have played his final game in Sevilla colours.

According to Radio Sevilla (via Vamos di Sevilla), Tottenham Hotspur is in advanced talks with Sevilla over a €25 million transfer for En-Nesyri. After eight years in Spain, the Moroccan striker is open to joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Sevilla is trying to acquire funds to balance its books and has opted to sell their star scorer. According to a rumour (h/t Vamos di Sevilla), Spurs attempted to include Bryan Gil in the deal, but the La Liga club preferred a monetary exchange.

En-Nesyri has been a vital role for Sevilla throughout the years and might be a good fit for Spurs. Since losing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in 2023, Ange Postecoglou has relied on Son Heung-min, Richarlison, Brennan Johnson, and Dejan Kulusevski for goals.

Sevilla star Youssef En-Nesyri is open to joining Tottenham this summer.

As a result, our club is looking to add a centre-forward during this transfer window and has set its sights on the Sevilla star. En-Nesyri’s ability to score goals will be extremely beneficial to Postecoglou’s team, potentially relieving Son and Richarlison of a heavy duty.

The Moroccan can also play up front alongside Son, with the former’s aerial skills and hold-up play complementing the latter’s savvy movement behind the defence to great effect. With creative minds like James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur behind them, En-Nesyri could have plenty of scoring opportunities in the opposition box.

En-Nesyri has only one year left on his current contract, and Sevilla is under pressure to trade him. The Andalusian club does not want to lose a player of his calibre on a free transfer next summer, so it makes sense to sell him now while he still has some worth. Spurs could get a striker of the Moroccan’s talent and experience for roughly €25 million, which is a huge bargain.
