On paper, it makes sense why the Spurs were interested in him, may have even spoken with him or had him on their short list.
However, Jordan was unimpressed with the notion that he declined the offer to take charge of the London club when it was made to him.

“Coaches today, not just Vinny (Kompany), are promoting their style for the chance (of a bigger job),” Lescott remarked in response to rumours that Kompany will be hired by Bayern despite his resume. “Remember, he did decline Spurs the previous year after receiving a promotion.”
Jordan answered, “You say that,” to which Lescott retorted, “I know that,” with assurance. Jordan reiterated, “You do realise that? Do you know that Kompany received a job offer from the Spurs? You do, are you not?
The former centre back grinned broadly and answered, “Yeah,” meeting Jordan’s gaze directly.
