Report: Aston Villa is prepared to fight Spurs for the center defender, who is 24 years old.

As reported by GFFN, Aston Villa is now prepared to take on Tottenham and other teams in the competition for Nice center-back Jean Clair-Todibo, according to a report in L’Equipe.

Tottenham wants to increase its alternatives at center back this summer, as has been widely reported in recent weeks. Last month, GFFN stated that Spurs are prepared to rekindle their interest in Todibo.

Todibo might be moving this summer.

The source clarified that the Lilywhites had attempted to sign the Frenchman in January but were unable to do so due to the Ligue 1 club’s demand of €60 million (£51.1 million).

Nice is reportedly ready to sell the center back for €40 million (£34 million), which is believed to have made Spurs and Manchester United aware of the situation.

Two weeks ago, Todibo acknowledged in an interview with The Telegraph that he had previously spoken with the Red Devils and the Lilywhites.

Aston Villa enters the Jean-Clair Todibo competition.

Todibo’s potential departure from Allianz Riviera has now also been discussed by L’Equipe, who disclosed that the defender has been informed he is free to go.

Aston Villa is reportedly the most recent team to join the race, but the source claims that many clubs are now keeping an eye on the player’s circumstances.

The article also states that the Villans have determined that the Nice star would be the best player to strengthen their defense when they look to add new players to their roster now that they have qualified for the Champions League.
