cm; inter gets involved in million-dollar cash chases Eye replacement at Aston Villa

The trio of Milan, Inter, and Aston Villa—three teams who will compete in the upcoming Champions League—may emerge as the main player in several mercato transactions, according to Calciomercato.com.

Geoffrey Moncada, the technical director of Milan, and Monchi, the former sports director of Roma and Sevilla and colleague at Aston Villa, met over the course of the last few days. The right-back that the Rossoneri favour, Matty Cash, was one of the players that was talked about.

Due to the Villans’ €20 million asking price, the talks between the two teams are currently not at an advanced stage. Still, he is on Milan’s list along with Tiago Santos of Lille and Emerson Royal of Tottenham.

If Cash left before Villa’s first season back in the Champions League, they would require a right-back replacement, and the money raised would allow Monchi to make a big play for Denzel Dumfries of Inter.

As Inter struggles to gain traction in the renewal talks, Aston Villa has already reached out to the Dutch wing-back’s agents in an attempt to better grasp the circumstances and negotiate the terms of the deal.

Dumfries’ contract, which pays him €2.5 million net annually, expires on June 30, 2025. He has asked for a large pay rise that would nearly double his present income. It’s clear that there is a standoff, and the Nerazzurri have started considering alternatives.

The negotiations will go on on several fronts, but to make things easier, Milan could buy Cash for the asking amount and acquire a new right-back, while Villa could buy Dumfries from Inter for the agreed upon sum and everyone would be happy.
