Everton is now considering the possibility of signing a new midfield player from one of the biggest teams in Europe this summer.

Among the clubs entering June with the knowledge that they must sell players in order to adhere to PSR regulations is the Toffees.

Farhad Moshiri is in talks for a possible new takeover transaction, so Everton could be in for a significant boost soon.

777 Partners missed their deadline to buy the club at the end of last month, and it now appears that talks have broken down.

As Everton prepares to move into their new stadium, a far wealthier group may be supporting the team under the new ownership at Goodison Park.

However, the Toffees are rumored to be targeting a midfield player for this summer, who may only want for €10 million (£8.5 million).

Everton is pursuing a midfielder from Juventus.

With the PSR deadline approaching, there is a lot of discussion about potential actions that may need to be taken this month around player departures at Goodison Park.

However, Everton will also need to consider additions given that the Toffees will be struggling at times throughout the 2023–2024 season.

Even though Everton ultimately avoided relegation with a sizable lead over Luton Town, there were moments during the season when it appeared like a genuine struggle.

It is likely that Southampton and Leicester City will field stronger teams in the near future, therefore effort will need to be done in the upcoming months to bolster Sean Dyche’s team.

The Premier League is showing interest in the adaptable Juventus wing-back, with West Ham reportedly having high hopes for the Serbian.

With two years left on his present contract with the club, the 31-year-old is reportedly on the market in Turin this summer.

It might only take a price of about €10 million (£8.5 million) to get him to leave the Allianz Arena.

Where at Everton would Filip Kostic play?

Although Kostic usually plays on the left flank as a wing-back, he has demonstrated his versatility by playing up higher on the field as well.

The Serbian, who plays as a wing-back in Massimiliano Allegri’s system, returned four assists in Serie A last season.

However, it would be more realistic for Kostic to show up and play as the left-sided midfielder because Dyche’s Everton is using a flat back four.

This guy, who has played for several major European teams and won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt, would offer a wealth of experience to the Everton team.

During Kostic’s tenure in the Bundesliga, former Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic praised him, calling him “extraordinary” on the league website.

It is debatable, though, if he still possesses the attacking danger in front of goal necessary to play in a team without wing-backs.
