“We assume he is our coach” – Club chairman quizzed about Brighton interest in their manager

Malmö FF, a Swedish team, has finally responded in public to the recent allegations that their manager, Henrik Rydström, is interested in joining Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 48-year-old is reportedly the focus of the Seagulls, according to the English media, who want him to take Roberto De Zerbi’s place at the team.

In an interview with Fußballkanalen today, Anders Pålsson, the chairman of Malmo, stated Brighton has not yet gotten in touch with him on that prospect.

When asked if Brighton had made any kind of contact, he reiterated his denial that it had.

No, it hasn’t. Nothing beyond the accounts published in the media.

In addition, he declined to address any further rumours, restating that nothing is happening at the moment.

“I’ve read a number of interesting reports, but nothing that is particularly helpful to us.This is an entirely hypothetical query. Henrik and I have an understanding, and we consider him to be our coach.

It makes sense because Henrik has performed admirably. I have nothing to say else.

Before coming to work at Malmo in December 2022, Rydström held positions at Sirius and Kalmar. His record in 54 games as the team’s manager is currently 39 wins, 7 draws, and 8 losses. The team won the league in 2023 and the cup this year.

Brighton has been connected to a number of managers recently, including the Swedish one, and they will soon need to make a decision.
