PV Sindhu Loses In First Round Of Indonesia Open

 

On Wednesday, India’s ace shuttler P V Sindhu was defeated by Hsu Wen-chi of Chinese Taipei in the first round of the Indonesia Open

exiting the BWF Super 1000 tournament shockingly early.

Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist and past world champion, suffered her first loss against Wen-chi in the women’s singles competition, 15-21, 21-15, 14-21.

The Taiwanese shuttler took an hour and ten minutes to defeat the Commonwealth Games gold champion.

Sindhu failed to get beyond the second round of the Indonesia Open last year.

In a women’s doubles round of 32 match, India’s Rutaparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda

were defeated 12-21 9-21 by Korea’s sixth-seeded pair of Kim So Yeong and Kong Hee Yong. PTI AH PM
