Player may switch from Tottenham to Fulham in the summer in light of recent developments.

The Athletic have learned that Ryan Sessignon, who formally parted ways with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, is expected to return to Fulham.

When Spurs signed Sességnon from Fulham in 2019, there was a lot of enthusiasm at the stadium. The left-back was regarded as one of the top young players in the Premier League for his position when he arrived.

Although he did have some promise at times while playing for the North London team, his five years at Hotspur Way have been marred by ongoing injury issues.

Sessegnon’s nightmare at Tottenham has finally come to an end when the Lilywhites decided not to exercise his one-year contract extension option, which would have allowed him to depart the team as a free agent.

Return to Fulham on the cards for Ryan Sessegnon

Sessegnon may return to Craven Cottage this summer, according to The Athletic, five years after transferring from the West London team to Tottenham.

Fulham has their sights set on their academy graduate in an attempt to provide competition for Antonee Robinson at left back, according to the report.

It is clarified, though, that although Marco Silva’s team has talked about making a move for the 24-year-old, the talks are still in the early stages because the team is wary of the player’s health problems.

Sessegnon is a free agent, but given the potential upsides, one would think that a few Premier League teams would be ready to take a chance on the young player. Teams might be reluctant to give the left-back a long-term contract, though, until he can demonstrate his fitness.
