November: A Bump In The Road For Leicester

Leicester City suffered their first Sky Bet Championship defeat since early September, collecting only four points out of a potential twelve before the last month of 2023.

After Harry Winks’ late winner at Queens Park Rangers, City faced Leeds United, who were also pursuing promotion, at King Power Stadium on Friday, November 3. Whites forward Georginio Rutter’s lone second-half goal propelled the Yorkshire team to three points.

After losing once in 14 games, City suffered three losses in 16 games, including a 1-0 setback at Middlesborough’s Riverside Stadium the next week. Sam Greenwood’s free kick reached the back of the net with less than 10 minutes remaining, stunning Leicester once more.

Two weeks later, Filbert Way resumed normal business with a 2-0 win over Watford.Jamie Vardy’s two late goals, including an injury-time penalty, helped the hosts regain their winning streak.

Leicester finished November with a 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.The Foxes took the lead through Abdul Fatawu, but Jeff Hendrick’s 93rd-minute equaliser secured a crucial point for the Owls’ survival. Despite a dismal month in comparison to others, Leicester retained first place – the Tractor Boys trailed by one point.
