Latest Rangers transfer news on Albion Rrahmani, Thomas Galdames and Yusuf Kabadayi…

Gers are looking to add to the signings of Jefte, Oscar Cortes and Mohamed Diomande

It seems like Déjà vu all over again for Rangers as we head into another summer transfer window with expectations of sweeping changes to their squad.

They did some early business last year before continuing right through and it’s looking the same again with Brazilian left-back Jefte signed along with another loan for Oscar Cortes, with an obligation to buy, and the permanent signing of Mohamed Diomande going through after a similar arrangement.

They will look to press on with more now with various positions needing attention. Talks have reportedly been held with Albion Rrahmani, the star striker of none other than Neil Lennon’s Rapid Bucharest. The 23-year-old looks certain to leave Rapid and Sparta Prague are also interested, but Gers are favourites to land him according to reports in Romania.

Another name linked is Chilean defender Thomas Galdames, playing in Argentina with Godoy Cruz, and he’s been speaking on his future. He said: “Nothing is known yet, I have a contract until December. I always dreamed of playing in Europe. I want to take this market calmly and be able to leave something for the club. I am very grateful to Godoy Cruz.

Knowing that I have six months left, anyone hopes to go free, but I don’t want that. If I go to this market, the idea is to return one day. I loved the club, the people, the city, they made me feel like one of you. My idea is to give back what the club did with me.”

Meanwhile, another reported target Yusuf Kabadayi has been spotted in the UK. The German winger has been on loan at Schalke from Bayern and Gers are now reportedly looking at him. He set tongues wagging when he was spotted in London for the Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund over the weekend.

The agent of Mexican midfieldeAndres Montano namechecked both Celtic and Rangers when talking about his client’s future. He said: “Yes, there are four clubs in Liga MX who have approached us including Cruz Azul and we have held conversations with them,” he said of the

“But we plan for Andres to make the jump to Europe now due to his characteristics and because it is the goal we aim for him.

“We think that Andres could easily play without problems for Celtic, or for Rangers, because of our relationship with them, but they are not the only ones. Celtic and Rangers have a lot of quality. The English Premier League is the number one league in the world and we already have Edson Alvarez (West Ham) and Raul Jimenez (Fulham) as Mexicans there.

Meanwhile, Ianis Hagi could be on the move again after his loan at Alaves. He’s instructed his agent to find him the “right team and manager” while he heads off the Euros with Romania.
