Guardiola ‘promises’ €60m Barcelona target ‘undisputed starting’ spot in Man City midfield

After “promising” Hansi Flick, Manchester City’s top midfield target, that he would be a “undisputed starter” if he signs with the team this summer, Pep Guardiola has showed Barcelona “no mercy.”

Having taken over as manager at the Nou Camp from Xavi, Flick wants to leave his mark on the Barcelona team, but he has little resources to do so.

According to reports, the current roster includes very few non-transferable players. Notable players who they will consider acceptable bids for are Raphinha, Ronald Araujo, and Jules Kounde.

Kimmich ‘practically impossible’ for Barcelona

Joshua Kimmich, 29, was a key member of the Bayern Munich team that won the treble, and the German coach is determined to bring him to Barcelona this summer.

However, ‘conversations have not gone as intended’ according to Spanish media, with Kimmich having ‘become an almost unachievable ambition’ for Barcelona.

Kimmich “instantly rejected” their first offer because he demands a “much higher salary” than Barcelona is prepared to give, and Bayern Munich “now refuses to open doors for him” despite rumours to the contrary.

It comes as a bit of a surprise considering that Kimmich just has a year remaining on his deal, but new manager Vincent Kompany is attempting to convince the Germany international to stay longer.

Bayern will consider proposals if Kimmich does not accept a new contract, but they must be for at least €60 million, which is once more outside Barcelona’s means.
