Championship striker who smashed Premier League record, ‘eye’ free agent Everton, Leeds United, and Leicester City

The Sheffield United attacker might be a bargain signing after being relegated.Everton are apparently interested in a move for the soon-to-be free agent Daniel Jebbinson.

The Sheffield United forward has been just relegated to the Championship with Chris Wilder’s club but is due to become a free agent this summer.

As part of their retained list statement, the Blades stated he has been given a new agreement although he is yet to sign it as he examines his future

HITC football’s Graeme Bailey believes Everton are interested in signing Jebbison as he is pondering his future.

It’s believed that Brighton, Ipswich, Leeds and Leicester are all interested in the former England U20 striker.

He only managed 20 minutes of involvement last season which came on the last day against Tottenham and managed just 19 appearances and two goals in their promotion campaign the year before.

That goal meant that he became the youngest player to score on his debut Premier League start aged 17 years and 309 days. Comparisons may be drawn to Dominic Calvert-Lewin who was recruited for £1.5m from Sheffield United who went onto become a major role for the club.

Despite purchasing both Beto and Youssef Chermiti last summer, Everton are tight on cash once again and getting Jebbinson on a free might be good for squad depth and he may even compile a value over the years meaning he could later be sold on if needed.

Standing at six foot three, he sports a very strong physical frame and is just requiring minutes to achieve his potential.

Former Sheffield United coach Jack Lester declared in 2023 that the player has a bright career ahead of him and that he was a terrific young forward.

He said: “People forget that he’ll still be a youngster at the start of next season so he’s developing incredibly well. He’s got some amazing physical attributes and we will continue to try to improve him.
