Everton insider shocked by ‘enormous’ update on £225m Goodison debt

Bryan King is astounded at Everton’s “enormous” interest payments on a debt owed to Rights and Media Funding Limited. The ex-Goodison scout believes the Toffees will also be paying interest on other debts.

It comes after a report in the Daily Mirror (1 June) stated that Everton owes £225 million to Rights and Media Funding, with the club paying £30 million in interest per year. And King, speaking exclusively to Goodison News, is astounded by the scale of the amounts being stated. “If this interest is costing them £30million, what about the interest on the other loans they owe?” King stated.

“I can’t believe how much money is going about. Is this monopoly money or real money?

“Everton pays tremendous interest every year. I just think the club will keep digging deeper and deeper.

Unless they can discover the correct owner and write it off.”

Everton find themselves in deep financial trouble at Goodison Park

It’s hard to see how Farhad Moshiri will get out of this financial crisis. Recent seasons have seen the Toffees run like a circus.

As a result, everyone is suffering, especially those in positions of authority.

Finding a prospective purchaser ready to assume this debt will be tough.

As time passes, it appears like Moshiri will have to swallow a hefty financial bullet.
