Rangers dealt blow as club prepare bids to sign £67,000-p/w duo, they want it done quickly

This move would not go down well at Ibrox.

With so many new faces due to arrive at Ibrox this summer, recent indications indicate that some big players may leave Rangers during the transfer window.

Latest Rangers transfer news

After losing both the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup to Celtic, it is evident that Rangers will need to make significant transfers if they are to beat their rivals next season.

Kalvin Phillips has been linked with a move to Ibrox. The midfielder is free to leave Manchester City on loan this summer, and Rangers are reportedly interested in signing the former England international. Rangers are also interested in Arsenal’s Reuell Walters, who is rated among the top six want-away players. At 19 years old, the versatile defender might be a valuable depth option for Phillippe Clement next season.

The Gers are also interested in retaining existing players, with defensive veteran Leon Balogun apparently in talks for a new contract at Ibrox. Despite being 35 years old and past his prime, Balogun is a crucial member of the Rangers backline and still has a lot to offer.

While much of the focus at Ibrox is on new arrivals, Rangers’ two top earners have been linked with a transfer elsewhere this summer.
