Tottenham star Yves Bissouma ‘tear gassed and mugged’ in France as attackers make off with £260,000 watch

The £260,000 watch of Tottenham Hotspur player Yves Bissouma was taken by robbers after he was “tear gassed and mugged” outside a five-star hotel in France.

Around four in the morning on Sunday, Bissouma, 27, and his companion are said to have been attacked by two hooded attackers outside the Majestic Barriere hotel in Cannes.

According to the Sun, the attackers doused the football player’s face with tear gas before stealing his watch and driving off. An investigation into the event, which happened on the Promenade de la Croisette, has been launched by French police.

According to reports, Bissouma informed police that when the attack happened, he and his companion were trying to seek safety in the hotel, but the doors were shut.

The football player was supposed to spend a few days unwinding in a resort in France, but he went back home on Sunday night instead.

Today, Bissouma’s Instagram account revealed that he had visited Tottenham’s Enfield training ground once more.

It follows the international player for Mali’s diagnosis of malaria during this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast.

In the meantime, a number of well-known football players’ residences have been broken into in the UK. Jack Grealish of England, Raheem Sterling of Chelsea, Kurt Zouma of West Ham, Alexander Isak of Newcastle, and Joelinton of Newcastle have all been targeted in the last 12 months.
