According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur is getting ready to make an official bid to recruit Callum Hudson-Odoi, a top player for Nottingham Forest, this summer.
With the one-year extension of Timo Werner’s loan agreement , the Lilywhites now have four skilled wingers available to them. They also have Manor Solomon, although he hasn’t played since September of last year due to an injury.
Spurs appear to have ample resources in their wide areas at the moment, but Ange Postecoglou appears to be looking to add a new winger before the 2019–20 campaign begins.
Tottenham is prepared to “make an offer” before June 30 in order to pursue a signing of Hudson-Odoi, per the Football Insider report.
The article claims that Nottingham Forest, which was found guilty of breaking the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations, must raise money by selling certain players before July in order to balance the books and be ready to cash in on him this summer.
If Spurs officially express interest in signing the player, the Reds may seek a sum of approximately £30 million to sell their top player. As a result, Spurs might sign him for a very low price.
A few years ago, Hudson-Odoi was considered one of the top young players in Europe, but his growth was impeded by injury issues. The Chelsea graduate has been playing at his best lately since coming to the City Ground, and it appears the Lilywhites are interested in signing him after being impressed by his performances.
As he can play on either side, Hudson-Odoi is a flexible player . He is a technically skilled player with the ability to dribble in tight spaces past opposing defenders.
The 23-year-old is also capable of finishing off his opportunities and creating quality crosses from the flanks. The Forest star has lots of time to advance in his profession because he is still young.
So, should Tottenham decide to buy him, he might be a wise addition. It would be intriguing to see, though, if the North London team decides to take a more proactive stance in trying to get his signature during the next transfer window.
