Relegation for ex-Preston North End, Millwall and Ipswich Town star despite TWO hat-tricks

During 2022–2023 he was on loan at PNE.

Troy Parrott, a former striker for Preston North End, has had an eventful two weeks in the Netherlands, to put it mildly.

The Republic of Ireland international played 34 games for the Lilywhites while on loan at Deepdale during the 2022–2023 season, tallying four goals. After that stint, the Tottenham Hotspur player moved to Holland to play for Excelsior Rotterdam for the duration of the season. Additionally, the striker had a somewhat successful time on an individual basis.

In 32 games, Parrott concluded the season with 17 goals and 5 assists. However, the Dutch team finished in 16th place and were unable to avoid relegation via the play-offs. As a result, they were eliminated from the Eredivisie. Excelsior defeated ADO Den Haag 9-2 overall in the first tie.

This led to a matchup with NAC, which Excelsior lost 6-7 over the course of two legs. However, NAC had a 2–6 lead after the first leg, and Parrott’s hat-trick in the second nearly spurred a stunning rally. In the 7-1 victory over Den Haag, the center forward also claimed possession of the match ball.

With a year remaining on his deal, he is now back at Spurs. Parrott, who was sidelined for a significant portion of the previous campaign due to injury, has been connected to both Bundesliga teams and some of the top teams in the Eredivisie.
