Pre-season Plans Enhanced by Celtic

Celtic Add to Pre-Season Plans

Even though they have only been gone a week, excitement is already growing for Celtic’s 2024–2025 season return. Although the Scottish Cup has only recently settled on the Hampden field, supporters are already looking forward to the following campaign.

On July 5, a matchup with former captain Scott Brown and his Ayr United will mark the start of the preseason. The new stand at Somerset Park will also have its grand opening during this match.

However, Brendan Rodgers and his Champions League aspirants are only getting started. The preseason schedule is jam-packed, with games on a US trip against his former team, Chelsea, Manchester City, and DC United. A friendly versus Queen’s Park has been announced, adding to the confusion, but with a slight twist.

On July 10, the two Glasgow teams will play at the City Stadium, which is tucked under Hampden Park, for the first time in fifteen years. But Queen’s Park has declared that there will be no general ticket sales. Season ticket holders and Spiders members are the only ones who may in, so Celtic supporters will have to wait outside for this one.

As the summer heat rises, the excitement of a new season will grow. We have the Euros to look forward to, but before that competition is over, Celtic supporters should be wishing they were the boys in green, as is customary.
