Atletico Madrid, who feel Pierre Emile Hojbjerg is now “within range” for them, was made aware of Tottenham’s decision to trade him this summer.
As per AS, Diego Simeone’s team is in need of a defensive midfield player, and Tottenham’s choice regarding Hojbjerg may prompt them to consider him once more.

According to the newspaper, Simeone’s top aim a year ago was the Tottenham player, who specialised in defensive midfield.
Despite giving the Atletico manager all he needs, an agreement could not be reached. In fact, Simeone believes Joey Vermeeren should play a different role, therefore no defensive player showed up at all.
The club is now resuming its search for a solution, and although they were preoccupied with other matters, Hojbjerg “hit the market” and may have altered their plans.
Due to the fact that the midfielder is in the last year of his contract and is not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans, Tottenham has reportedly stated that they are hoping to secure a sale this summer.
