Newcastle to submit £30m bid to sign ‘one of the best’ after holding talks during meeting

Following transfer negotiations at a meeting, Newcastle is now debating whether to submit a £30 million proposal.

Eddie Howe has money to spend in the market following a quiet January transfer window. The 46-year-old wants to lead the Magpies back into the UEFA Champions League the following season.

That will need some smart hiring in this very competitive modern era, and Newcastle is currently considering making a bid to sign “one of the best” in Europe.

Newcastle may agree to pay Giorgi Mamardashvili’s requested price.

According to a report by Spanish writer Nacho Sanchis, Newcastle is considering making Valencia an offer of €35 million (£30 million) in an attempt to recruit Giorgi Mamardashvili.

It is rumoured that the Magpies, who want to replace Martin Dubravka and Loris Karius, have already had a proposal of €25 million (£21 million) rejected for the Georgia international.

The Rayo Vallecano player Stole Dimitrievski has already joined the Spanish team to take Mamardashvili’s spot since he is anticipated to depart the Mestalla this summer.

Following a meeting in the Valencia boardroom, Newcastle is now really debating whether to pay the £30 million asking price, given that there isn’t currently any competition for the glovesman who was born in Tbilisi.

Throughout the 2023–24 season, Mamardashvili showed promise by preserving 13 clean sheets in 36 La Liga games while giving up just 39 goals.

The Georgian custodian is considered to be among the greatest in Spain, according to Miguel Angel Moya, a former Valencia player who also compared him to Real Madrid’s top custodian, Thibaut Courtois.

“It is true that, if he continues like this, it will be difficult to retain him, but the club has done very well to keep him,” the Spaniard said to Cadena Cope.He seems to be among the finest goalkeepers in La Liga right now, in my opinion.

“He’s really tall but agile, and he reminds me a lot of Courtois. He is resolute, daring, and dominant.

Eddie Howe offers substitute

Howe is also considering Arsenal’s top player Aaron Ramsdale in case a deal for Mamardashvili doesn’t work out.

After Mikel Arteta named David Raya his first choice custodian at the Emirates Stadium, TBR Football understands that the Gunners are happy to move the England international.

Mamardashvili is the topic of conversation right now, but if that chase fizzles out, we can see Newcastle acting quickly on Ramsdale—especially because Howe is well acquainted with him from their time together at Bournemouth.
