Wolves deliver £90m double transfer blow to Arsenal, Liverpool and Man United

Current Wolves transfer news as the team addresses three of the “big six” teams in the Premier League.

Important players Joao Gomes and Rayan Aït-Nouri are expected to stay at Wolves despite interest from the top six Premier League teams in transferring.

TalkSPORT is claiming that the team is certain to retain Gomes and Ait-Nouri even in the event that Pedro Neto leaves. With Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Spurs all keen in the Portugal international, Wolves are want a club record £60 million for Neto.

But Wolves will not be looking to offload this summer; instead, they want to hang onto their first-choice midfielder and left-back at Molineux. Although Man United only has a £35 million budget this summer, Ait-Nouri is allegedly their “preferred” left-back option. If they want to raise the money to pay the Algerian international, they will need to sell players.

Going back to 2022–2023, Gomes joined the team during the January transfer window and recently finished his first full season there. With two goals and two assists during the season, the midfielder made 38 appearances across all competitions. Man United, who are also interested in Ait-Nouri, and Arsenal have also been linked to a move for Gomes; however, as previously indicated, they will need to raise money in order to pay for the two.

The Brazilian midfielder, 23, tweeted on Monday, saying, “I love being here.”

It was rumoured in late March that Man United was preparing to move to sign Gomes, who they thought would be available for about £40 million. Gomes, though, made it clear in his post that he wanted to remain in the Midlands, and because Wolves is eager to hang onto him and Ait-Nouri, it will take sizable offers to lure them away from the team this summer.

Gary O’Neil acknowledged that the team is staying below the Financial Fair Play guidelines and isn’t planning to spend “millions” this summer. They won’t be holding a fire sale, but they could be able to reinvest in the team through a large-scale sale of Neto.
