Fans stunned as Brendan Rodgers makes shock claim over where Celtic would finish in the Premier League.
A bold forecast has been made by Rodgers. After winning the Scottish League for the twelfth time in a row, there had long been rumours that Celtic would be joining the Premier League.
After taking over for Ange Postecoglou in the summer, Brendan Rodgers won his third premier league trophy, continuing his unbeaten run of winning titles as the team’s manager.
On May 25, the Hoops and Rangers will compete in the Scottish Cup final, giving them the opportunity to add more trophies to their collection.
In three and a half seasons as manager, the former Liverpool manager would have won nine domestic titles out of a possible ten should Celtic defeat their fiercest opponents once more.
Celtic has won three of the four Old Firm meetings this season, and they are currently undefeated against Rangers.
Although neither Celtic nor Rangers have any firm plans to quit the Scottish Premiership, it has long been discussed whether they should relocate south to play in England’s top flight.
Celtic’s domination has raised the topic of whether they ought to transfer to a more competitive league, although some believe that their difficulties in Europe indicate how difficult it would be for them to succeed in the English premier league.
But according to Rodgers, Celtic would have finished higher this season than Manchester United and would have no trouble adjusting to life in the Premier League and challenging for a spot in the top six.

Here’s how supporters responded on social media to Rodgers’ prediction, thinking the Scottish team would not even finish in the top six. “Between 10–12th, no way top 6,” remarked an Arsenal supporter.
“They are a mid-table Championship squad, play-off contenders at best,” remarked a different fan. “Relegation certainties coming from a farmers
league,” a third person said. “Bottom five on a good year,” remarked the fourth. Another fan came to the final conclusion, saying, “They wouldn’t get out of the Championship.”
According to former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan, there were initial discussions in 2002 about Celtic joining the Premier League.
“When it was originally suggested (in 2002), I was for it,” he said on talkSPORT.
