Complete Celtic Champions League schedule: Brendan Rodgers and company take on the best in a rescheduled schedule.

Gaining the Scottish Premiership championship will secure a spot in the league stage of the recently redesigned competition.

Next season, Celtic will have another opportunity to compete against Europe’s best teams as they will go straight into the redesigned Champions League.

Scots Premiership champions Brendan Rodgers and his team secured their golden ticket to the big time with their victory. As they attempt to create an impression against the best in club football, they will be hoping for a third straight season at the top table, having won the Scottish championship against rivals Rangers in the previous two seasons. Of course, the Hoops will earn a hefty salary for qualifying for the actual competition, but the fans will be itching to compete more because of the new format and increased number of games.

The long-awaited run without a victory at the top table came to an end in last season’s last match, and the Scottish champions will be hoping it’s only the beginning. There are new regulations regarding matches and qualification for the new competition. Celtic supporters should mark their calendars for the following important days on the UEFA schedule.

The new Champions League format is described.

Celtic is accustomed to participating in six group matches inside a four-team league. The top two advance to the knockout stages, while the third place team advances to the Europa League, where all three of the section’s opponents will play each other both at home and away. But now that there is only one 36-team league stage in the competition, everything has changed.

With four games at home and four away, each team plays eight different opponents. Clubs ranked nine through twenty-four compete in the knockout round play-offs, with the top eight moving straight into the round of 16. The 25th-place team advances out of the competition; they do not advance to the Europa League.

The group stage will be reduced to a single 36-team League stage, which is the largest alteration. Eight separate teams are pitted against each team—four at home and four away. The top eight seeds proceed directly to the round of 16, while the teams that place ninth through twenty-four go to the knockout round play-offs, where the winners advance to the round of sixteen. It’s a straight knockout after that.

Important dates for the Champions League league stage draw

Celtic won’t find out their Champions League fate until August 29 because they don’t need to qualify. This is when the draw for the new 36-league team system will be held by UEFA, deciding who will play whom. The games begin in September and continue through the next year, with the last round of matches happening at the end of January.
