This post is a part of the “Terrace Talk” series from Football League World, whereby our FLW Fan Pundits share their personal insights on the newest breaking news, teams, players, managers, possible signings, and more.

Following his back-to-back promotions with Suffolk Town, Kieran McKenna has become a serious contender for several top-flight positions, sparking rumours about who would take his place should he go.

McKenna’s name is becoming more and more apparent as the successor for Roberto De Zerbi, who left Brighton & Hove Albion, and Mauricio Pochettino, who left Chelsea.

One of the names that has been floated as a possible McKenna replacement at Portman Road is Rob Edwards of Luton Town, who was just demoted back to the Championship with the Hatters.

Anyone but McKenna would be a disappointment for Ipswich fans

Henry thinks that whoever takes over as manager before the upcoming season begins would be difficult to accept after going through such a high throughout the previous two seasons with McKenna in charge.

“I’m not sure if I can 100% see Rob Edwards coming to Ipswich if McKenna goes,” he remarked.

It’s challenging because, at the time, I really don’t want to be thinking about having another manager oversee us.

“Rob Edwards gave Luton a chance, despite their small budget and inexperienced playing group, before they signed players like Ross Barkley.”

In my opinion, there is no clear winner in the event that McKenna leaves.

“You also have Rosenior, who was all the rage at the conclusion of the previous season, but like I said, I believe I’ll be very, very upset if McKenna manages Ipswich for the first game of the season.”

Henry has made his position apparent, and he is probably not the only Ipswich supporter who feels that way.

Though for some fans like Henry it would feel like a story cut short before reaching a natural end, Edwards has done enough to establish he’d be deserving of the assignment if McKenna left. Edwards gave Luton a fighting chance in the Premier League despite all the odds.
