Newcastle to hold crunch Alexander Isak talks after Arsenal twist – sources

According to sources that spoke with Football Insider, Newcastle United and Alexander Isak will discuss the possibility of a new contract being offered.

Isak, 24, will receive a pay cut of almost twenty percent next season along with the rest of his colleagues after the north-east giants were unable to secure a Champions League spot.

Newcastle is eager to extend an upgraded contract to its star attacker, putting him on par with the team’s highest paid players, Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier.

After the FA Cup final, when United finds out which European competition they will play in the next season, talks are probably going to take place.

Top Premier League clubs are showing a lot of interest in signing the Swedish forward to a new contract.

Arsenal and Tottenham have both expressed interest in the striker, as Football Insider previously disclosed.

Newcastle United to offer Alexander Isak a new contract

Isak might be lured away from St James’ Park with a £100 million deal, according to former Everton CEO Keith Wyness, who spoke with Football Insider.

Insuring Isak with a new contract would validate Newcastle’s aspirations and elevate their standing in English football.

Football Insider reported that although players like Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon have also been linked to moves away from St. James’ this summer, the team is confident in maintaining their key players.
