Jobe Bellingham interview provides interesting hint on Sunderland future amid £12m reports

A long interview regarding Jobe Bellingham’s future amid transfer interest was given.

In light of transfer interest from elite European teams, Jobe Bellingham, a star for Sunderland, has talked about his goals for the upcoming campaign and hinted that he may stay with the team past the summer.

In recent weeks, Borussia Dortmund of the Bundesliga has been linked to the Southampton midfielder, with Tottenham and Newcastle United also showing interest as well. After moving to Wearside from Birmingham last summer, the 18-year-old made 45 Championship games and scored seven goals for the Black Cats.

When Bellingham signed a “long-term” contract with Sunderland last summer, it was announced, but the length of the arrangement was not made public. During the 2023–24 season, the 18-year-old played primarily in midfield, although he has also shown success in more advanced roles, such as off the frontman or as a number nine.

But after the season ended, Jobe had an interview with Sunderland’s internal club media department, where he discussed a variety of subjects, including his thoughts on his debut season in red and white and his ambitions for the upcoming campaign.

Here are all of Jobe’s comments regarding his future with Sunderland, his season-long stay in the North East, his aspirations for the forthcoming campaign, and a playful tease about the kit release:

Thoughts on the 2023–2024 season

JB: “It has been a really instructive experience.Like every season, there have been a lot of ups and downs. However, I believe that I’ve learned so much from this first season that it will benefit me greatly in the next.

The opportunity to play for a major club and in front of a sizable fan base has undoubtedly come with pressures. And you also need to get used to and learn from that.As I previously mentioned, I believe that both as a player and as a person, I have improved greatly and learned a great deal.

“I was told what to expect when I came here, but you never really understand until you are here.”I was a little taken aback and thought, “Wow, this is incredible.”Regarding a number of topics, including the players, supporters, and ambition that we had here, as previously mentioned.

Thus, in my opinion, it has certainly lived up to all of that. To be honest, it probably lived up to that in the first few games. Now that the season is almost over, I believe that I’m feeling it a little more since I’m a member of the team and I’m more motivated to get things right.

Plans for the next season and enhancing

JB: “Yes, I would suggest correct and make an effort to get better. Some difficult things have been encountered, if you understand what I mean? However, since doing so would probably force you to alter the lessons you take away from it, I wouldn’t edit anything. Thus, no, I wouldn’t make any changes. Personally, though, there have undoubtedly been more highs than lows in terms of growth. Thus, no, I wouldn’t make any changes.See you later!

“I feel very desperate to develop and whatnot when you’re someone like myself, where all I want to do is reach the next milestone and keep getting better and better. And maybe it can get to me a little irritated, but it’s something that you should truly reflect on and be proud of yourself for.

“Because there are accomplishments I ought to be proud of.”I don’t want to stand motionless and only gaze back, though, at the same time. I want to make sure that I continue to advance and become better. However, I can undoubtedly reflect on the season and feel proud at the finish.

Orienting Oneself Northeast

JB: “I’d like to invite everyone over to play football. Furthermore, the generosity of the people in the North East is fantastic. In both good and terrible times, I have never had a negative experience with someone on the streets. They always have great things to say and are quite courteous and pleasant when they approach me. Of course, that works both ways.

But no, in terms of people, it’s been a really good experience.I just can’t express how grateful I am to the fans for their kindness and support. The culture is something I would unquestionably embrace, and I would advise everyone to do the same wherever they went. However, I’ve made a sincere effort to accept the club and the neighbourhood. And that’s really not that difficult, in my opinion.

All you have to do is get out, explore, and take in your surroundings.since I’ve lived in the same neighbourhood and at the same club my entire life.To be honest with you, I feel like I’ve been here for a lot longer than a year. That is, I’m not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

“I’ve made every effort to fully embrace the community, the team, the supporters, and the people.”And I firmly believe that it has benefited me. It has aided me in adjusting to the club and the surroundings, as you say.So, yes, I’m quite happy with it.I haven’t given anything for the upcoming season any thought yet.

Season-long objectives for Sunderland

JB: “The most exciting thing right now is definitely that I’ve seen the kits, of course.since they are undoubtedly great. But no, I haven’t made any goals. Really, it will happen in the summer when we return to pre-season.I believe that simply concentrating on what’s in front of you is the best course of action.
