How much Crystal Palace value Mateta at as Napoli now target the Frenchman

Crystal Palace will be devastated as top European interest has now arrived for star striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Oliver Glasner needs to be really excited about the project he’s working on at Crystal Palace. He has completely changed the course of this team’s success and set the Eagles ablaze.

Steve Parish swiftly squashed Bayern Munich’s interest in him, but he seemed happy to stay at Selhurst Park.

He will, however, be crossing his fingers and toes that his players stay at Selhurst Park this summer.

It appears that Jean-Philippe Mateta will be added to the list of famous players who have reportedly left the team, as reported by the links that we have all seen.

Now connected to Jean-Philippe Mateta is Napoli

Mateta’s departure this summer would be devastating for Palace, but it now appears certain as Serie A powerhouses are showing interest in him.

The South London Press reports that in an attempt to replace Victor Osimhen, who is expected to leave, Mateta has piqued the interest of the Scudetto winners from the previous season.

Along with RB Leipzig’s summertime bid, Real Betis and Eintracht Frankfurt have also expressed interest in the player, Napoli.

Mateta is believed to be available for a reasonable £25.7 million, which would persuade Palace to let her go.

But given that Mateta is one of the most productive strikers in the Premier League, this seems a touch on the cheap side.

Crystal Palace cannot sell Mateta this cheap

It would be absurd to sell the team’s player of the year and striker, who has scored 16 goals this year, for so little money.

Mateta has scored ten goals since Glasner joined the team, outperforming the forward options that Palace is currently linked to. This includes players like Eddie Nketiah, who is currently half the player and would cost £40 million.

After just £9 million, Mateta has grown into a cult hero and a symbol of this new Palace age since Glasner took over.

Selling at this low price doesn’t seem like a smart choice. Therefore, Palace ought to be asking for between £30-35 million for the 26-year-old Frenchman if he is to be moved.
