Exclusive: Aston Villa to announce near-£20m off-pitch deal this week

Following their Champions League qualification, Aston Villa is expected to announce their new kit manufacturer partnership with Adidas this week, according to Football Insider’s sources.

The Birmingham-based team announced earlier this year that they will be parting ways with Castore at the end of the current campaign. Villa is expected to sign a multi-year contract with the German sportswear business starting in 2024–25.

After Tottenham’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City on Tuesday night, Unai Emery’s team officially qualified for the Champions League for the first time in the team’s history.

After being accepted into the most esteemed club competition in Europe, Villa is prepared to reveal their partnership with Adidas this week.

Aston Villa ready to unveil £17m agreement this week

While the team is participating in Europe, Villa’s Adidas contract is estimated to be worth about £17 million annually by Football Insider.

Compared to their previous Castore arrangement, which was only worth £4 million annually to the club, it represents a significant boost.

After the “big six” and Newcastle United, Villa’s new clothing agreement is expected to be the sixth most lucrative in the Premier League.

Through their co-owner Nassef Sawiris, who purportedly holds a six percent investment in the sportswear company, Villa and Adidas are connected.

It is believed that the club began negotiations with a new kit maker after players repeatedly voiced dissatisfaction with the calibre of their current 2023–24 Castore uniform.
