Newcastle United’s owners were there at St James’ Park during their 1-1 draw with Brighton.
To commemorate the occasion, Newcastle’s owners, staff, players, and families participated in the traditional lap of honour, expressing their gratitude to the fans and vice versa.
When asked about their appearance, United manager Eddie Howe stated, “The big thing on that is you want the club to be united and one team, and I do believe we’ve had that since I’ve been here.” I believe you can see our relationship with a truly united support network that includes players, staff, and owners.
“They came onto the pitch at the end, which I believe is very healthy.” A time for everyone to express their gratitude to one another, thus I believe there is a positive vibe in the club right now.
Howe was also thrilled that his players were able to share the event with their partners and children, describing it as “very special”.
The 46-year-old continued: “It’s a beautiful event, and the beauty of that moment is that you get the players’ and staff’s families to come onto the pitch.
“Those people are so fundamentally important in our lives, but they never get to share any of the experiences that we do, or they’re never seen, so it’s really nice to get everyone’s children on the pitch, sharing and embracing everything Newcastle-related.” “Very special.”
Although Newcastle won’t return to St James’ Park until August, the 2023-24 season isn’t yet over. Next week, Howe’s men will go to Manchester United and Brentford to secure European status.
“Two huge games,” Howe explained. “Isn’t the Manchester United game set up perfectly?” That will be huge for us; we will do everything we can to get a great outcome. Of course, Brentford will take care of itself on the last day. But, as we’ve always maintained, it’ll most likely come down to the wire.”
