Premier League make official announcement set to impact Newcastle United, Man Utd, Everton & Co

The Premier League has disclosed when the fixtures for next season will be released.

Newcastle United’s Premier League fixtures will be released at 9am on Tuesday, June 18th, revealing who they will meet on the opening day and when they will play the remaining 37 matches. The date is less than a month after the Magpies’ season-ending match against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The 2024/25 Premier League season will begin on Saturday, August 17, and go until Sunday, May 25. There will be no games on Christmas Eve, nor will there be a mid-season ‘winter break’ as has been done in previous seasons. There will be 33 weekends of action, four midweek rounds, and a bank holiday set of games, which will be announced in due time.

Eddie Howe’s squad started the season with a 5-1 victory over Champions League contenders Aston Villa at St James’ Park. Newcastle has made a strong start to the season with goals from Sandro Tonali, Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson, and Harvey Barnes. Tonali will be eligible to play from the third league game onwards.

Leicester City and Ipswich Town have already been promoted to the Premier League. West Brom, Norwich City, Leeds United, and Southampton will battle in the play-offs for the final promotion position. Sheffield United have already been demoted from the Premier League, while Burnley’s fate was confirmed on Saturday. After only one season in the top-flight, Luton Town are likely to be relegated and return to the Championship.
