Ipswich Town: Bailey Clements released by Chesterfield

Bailey Clements, a former defender for Ipswich Town, was released by Chesterfield, a freshly promoted League Two team.

After being released by Town, the 23-year-old joined the Spireites in the summer of 2022 to rejoin his former Blues manager Paul Cook.

In his debut season at the team, he went on to assist them get to the National League play-off final, but Notts County defeated them on penalties.

The early half of 2023–2024 saw Clements spend some time on loan at Eastleigh, a team in the National League.

In January, he came back to Chesterfield and helped the team win the fifth-tier title and their first-ever promotion back to League Two since 2018.

After joining the club at the age of seven, Clements came through the academy and made a total of nine games for Town.

After just one season at the SMH Group Stadium, Harley Curtis, another former Town academy player, was also let go.
