£34m versatile ace now happy to sign deal with Aston Villa for next season

Although Aston Villa would have been devastated to be eliminated from the Europa Conference League in the semi-finals, Unai Emery will understand that his team needs to move on from that setback and focus on qualifying for the Champions League this season.

There’s a good chance the Villains will finish last unless they collapse in their last games and allow Tottenham Hotspur to sneak in.

According to an ex-scout, Baena is willing to switching clubs to Villa.

That would necessitate the Lilywhites winning all of their remaining games, as the points margin is so large that anything less would guarantee Villa the UCL spot regardless of their results.

With next season in mind, Villa, like many other clubs, will be seeking for new talent, and one player that has been connected is Villarreal’s Alex Baena.

According to Villa News, ex-club scout Bryan King feels the £34 million-rated star has a high probability of joining the Midlands-based team.

“Emery’s connection to Baena could help Aston Villa immensely,” he was reported as adding.

“Footballers are forever thankful to the manager who introduces them to the game by giving them their debut.

“Baena would be delighted to reunite with a previous manager as long as the fee is met. Villa has always considered these great players, but it is now much easier for the club to sign them.
