A manager who was linked with Sunderland in 2023 is now poised to take the Ajax job, according to reports.
For quite some time now, Sunderland has been embroiled in a managerial disaster.
It might even go back to Tony Mowbray’s successful tenure as manager of Sunderland before rumors circulated that the owners of the team were thinking of firing him.
Before being fired in December, Mowbray would lead the Black Cats into the 2023–2024 season and to another strong start to the season.
His replacement was a very unimpressive Michel Beale. After only 12 games and four victories, Mike Dodds took over and led the team to a 16th-place finish in the Championship.
A number of names are currently being connected, and the long-term goal will still be brought up frequently. After Sunderland was linked to Italian manager Francesco Farioli a few months prior, he was brought up last year.
