‘I don’t feel my legs anymore’: Key West Ham ace makes worrying admission after Liverpool draw

In the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, West Ham United battled to get a point against Liverpool.

Sadly, unfortunately, West Ham’s draw with Liverpool was insufficient to move us into the top seven of the Premier League standings.

If Hammers manager David Moyes was to have any chance of remaining at the London Stadium past the end of current season, he sorely needed a victory over the Reds.

In actuality, the performance versus Liverpool wasn’t at all horrible. But once again, some extremely subpar defending turned out to be our weakness.

We’ve really allowed what was once a highly promising season fade away, in my opinion. It is Moyes’ and his teammates’ fault.

However, one player has really helped us this term. Having said that, he didn’t exalt himself yesterday.

The fact that there probably won’t be any European football next season is really unfortunate.

That’s a discussion for a future day, but things could have turned out quite differently. Our focus is currently on one of our important players who appears to sustain more annoying minor injuries than most.

Alphonse Areola was extremely fortunate that referee Anthony Taylor stopped play after he recklessly tossed the ball down in front of him, giving Cody Gakpo the opportunity to flick the ball into an empty net. Areola should have saved Andy Robertson’s equaliser for Liverpool.

And now, in my opinion, the Frenchman has revealed something really concerning.

According to WHUFC.com, the Frenchman claimed that he had been shot in the body following the game on Saturday.

“I’m happy to be back. To be honest, I can’t feel my legs anymore, but I’ll get better, take an ice bath, and return to the game prepared.

Since Areola was able to finish the game, his injury was probably not too serious. But the fact that a goalie—who is only 31—was experiencing that much leg pain after 90 minutes worries me.

It is also important to note that the Frenchman has more game injuries that have forced him off the field than any other goalie that I can recall.

Areola has had to leave games at halftime in the Premier League on two different times this season due to injuries. Due to injuries, he has also missed seven league games this season (Transfermarkt).

And given the West Ham star’s admission after the 2-2 draw with Liverpool, the medical staff might want to take a closer look at his general level of fitness.
