‘VAR is a Luton fan’…Forest release very strong statement after Everton defeat at Goodison Park

Nottingham Forest have just released a statement in the aftermath of a 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.

The Reds are perilously close to disaster. This game came down to razor-thin margins, but Forest must improve.

Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil‘s goals provided Everton some breathing room in their own Premier League relegation battle.

Forest struggled throughout the match, while Everton gained momentum after a promising start.

Matz Sels could have saved the opening goal, but he saw it late.

The game could – and should – have been settled differently if the day’s officials had done their jobs correctly.

Forest have responded in a somewhat forceful manner, and it is fair to say that the football club is not pleased.

Forest have excelled themselves this time, and we believe it is something Premier League clubs really need.

It’s past time for the PGMOL to show some backbone and justify these really absurd judgements.

Shortly after today’s result, the Reds posted their response on X, and they took aim at the VAR, Stuart Attwell.

The message stated: “Three incredibly terrible decisions – three penalties not imposed – that we just cannot accept.

We informed the PGMOL before the game that the VAR is a Luton fan, but they did not change him. Our patience has been challenged several times.

“NFFC will now consider its options.”

Forest have to be careful with a statement of this nature

We appreciate the passion in this article, but we’re not sure what the club expects to achieve with it.

Hiring Mark Clattenburg as a referee analyst has clearly not helped, and this type of behaviour is unlikely to help either.

Forest must take care of business on the pitch, and in truth, they performed poorly today.

Still, Attwell was a disgrace, and it’s unclear how he got four penalty calls so wrong.

Forest will discuss their next steps, which will be an interesting topic.
