West Ham United ready bid to sign Ipswich star Leif Davis as £20m transfer update emerges.

According to GiveMeSport, West Ham United are contemplating a bid for Ipswich Town’s left-back Leif Davis.

According to a report on April 17, if Ipswich do not win promotion from the Championship, the Hammers will be more likely to make an offer – but they will still contemplate testing the Tractor Boys’ fortitude even if they win.

Davis’ strong performances in the second tier have drawn the attention of West Ham, but his present club is likely to want a sum in the region of £20 million to part with their prized asset.

West Ham United have shortlisted high-flying Leif Davis.

Given Davis’ performances for Ipswich this season, it’s no surprise that the Hammers are interested in him.

The left-back has been instrumental in their promotion push, particularly moving forward. In fact, no player in the Championship has more assists than him thus far, and he leads a group of forwards and attacking midfielders.

Davis’ strong performances have earned him a merited place in the Championship Team of the Season. He hopes to achieve more accolades this season as Ipswich battle for promotion.

If the 24-year-old joins West Ham, he will follow in the footsteps of Aaron Cresswell, who left the club in 2014. Ironically, Cresswell’s contract expires at the end of the season, thus he may take Cresswell’s spot in the squad.

Emerson Palmieri is expected to compete for a starting berth with Davis or whoever the club signs at left-back this summer.
